You can view details about me and my family at My Web Site.
I first got involved with Computers in 1982 when the PC first launched. Recently I have been involved in designing Websites and setting up Websites for several people. I use Hostgator as my Hosting Company and you can find and register Domain Names at the site.
Several people have been asking about Web Design so I thought that we would take a look at designing a simple Website.
However before we start we should look at two of the most important aspects that we will have to meet as soon as we have any designed our web pages..
These are Domain Names and Web Hosting.
There are several places on the Internet that provide cheap or even Free web Hosting facilities and if you only wish to place some family pictures and Family Trees on the Internet there is nothing wrong with that. however if you are looking to do something more substantial then you require a more substantial Web Hoster. For one thing your Website will appear more professional with a site called JohnSmith.com as opposed to SomeWebSite.com/JohnSmith.
I suggest that you carry out a Google Search for WebHosting to look at alternatives if you don’t like Hostgator. The one thing that I believeĀ your WebHoster must have is CPanel Hosting. so a Google Search for cpanelhosting will yield some alternatives.
Cpanel is important because it allows you to design your website layout easily and by using Fantastico Blogs, Databases, Guestbooks etc can be added very easily.
If anyone is interested in looking closer at CPanel there are some Videos teaching Cpanel In Depth.
Anyway for now search google to find out about Domain Names and webhosting and find a provider who suits you
Talk to you later
