The pictures certainly don't do it justice. The face took over 12 years; though the first blast on the mountain was in 1948. Though there are plans gfor a university on the site many of the traditional Lakota Souix are not happy and view the site in a similar way to the way they view Mt. Rushmore as a desecration of the Black Hills. |
